Help, my horse has a "clicky hip"?
My horse a 14.2 cob irish maybe, has a clicky hip i have had him since Jan and know the previous owner who said he has had this for a long while, he don't appear botherd by it and lets you lift it up to pick his feat out etc. I give him 20ml of codliver oil daily and i think this helps : | is this about the right dose or not i am not sure. Obs i am worried if this is causing him pain. He don't rly seem reluctant to do anything. He was aloud to get very overweight with his previous owner, i am steadily getting this weight off him and he has alot more energy, could his weight be connected/causing this?

try glucosimine or msm to help re-lubricate that particular joint, it doesnt happen over night but it does work i have heard horses that click in their joints before and ive heard how much better they sound after using the glucosimine or msm so i know it works to some degree. also maybe try backing him up a hill my ferrier who is a very old guy the been there and then some kind of guy, i love to pick his brain he is very wise and has lots of information to share told me to back my thouroughbred mare up a hill backwords she has a stiffled hip from something her previous owner did and she tends to kick out if it starts to bug her he said backing them up the hill will help the muscle back over the hip joint and it wont bother her as much and boy he was right.....so try the supplements, keep giving the codliver oil if you like it and heck try doing the up the hill backwords trick ya never know it might help you too... good luck darlin...
